lake comoFor anyone thinking a holiday on Lake Como is only for sitting on the terrace sipping aperitivos enjoy a blazing sunset view, we suggest you consider the following activities:

–Wake-boarding just off your villa’s dock followed by a trip up the funicular at Argegno and a hike from Pigra to Rifugio Boffalora.

–Golfing in the hills above Menaggio at the historic golf club with majestic views of the Lake. Then visit the Spa Casta Diva to banish any lingering jet lag.

–Mountain biking from high above Bellagio (not for the faint of heart!) and then canyoning after lunch.canyoning near lake como

–Waterskiing from the dock in front of your Villa before you head off to rock-climb high above Varenna. Stop for a gelato on your way back to your private boat where Captain Riccardo will be waiting for you.

–Sailing in the northern reaches of the Colico branch where the wind dances on the water and the mountains seem to touch the shore. Or perhaps another hike? This time on the western shore of the Como branch above Brunate.

This still leaves plenty of opportunities to relax.

–A private boat tour with Captain Riccardo and Beatrice, our professional guide, (who will point out George Clooney’s and Donatello Versace’s homes)

–Lounge around one of Homebase Abroad’s villa pools —  Villa di Torno, Villa Villaggio or Villa Sola Cabiati— each of these stellar settings is distinctive in its own way.
