What To Do

  • Walk down the hill into the village of Cetona for coffee in the morning, lunch at Da Nilo or Saturday morning open air market.
  • Don’t miss the ancient Roman baths at San Casciano, Bagno Vignoni and San Filippo, where you can take the therapeutic baths year-round in the natural hot water springs.
  • Rome and Florence are both just one hour away by train from the town of Chiusi. We can arrange tour guides to meet you to learn the history of these two cities.
  • Wine lovers will certainly want to visit Montalcino and Montepulciano, arguably two of the most important wine-producing areas in Tuscany.
  • Take the train to the majestic Umbrian town of Orvieto to admire the monumental Cathedral & discover the labyrinth of underground caves & tunnels.
  • Take a boat to St. Francis Island in the middle of Lago di Trasimeno or more locally, walk the trails up to Monte Cetona. The more adventurous may opt to explore the ins and outs of the Val d'Orcia countryside astride the back of a Harley.
  • Not far from the village of Cetona, you can visit the Belverde archaeological and nature park. Here you can enjoy learning with a guide about the history and archaeology of these natural grottos while immersing yourself in a landscape of tall ilex woods.
  • Exceptional finds of all kinds can be discovered with a personal shopper in Florence and Rome. For those who prefer to discover on their own, outlets for designer clothing are nearby.
  • Of course, you’ll want to plan time to enjoy your villa. We can arrange private wine- and cheese-tasting with a professional sommelier, cooking lessons and massages, all in the privacy of Villa La Rocca.
